Before we start working on your GSA Schedule, we research the GSA Schedule category or categories for your products or services. We look at how much the Federal Government is spending in your industry. We determine your NAICS, GSA Schedule and GSA Schedule SIN codes. We can then show you how much the Government has spent on your GSA Schedule category and what Government contracts are presently available. Request our FREE opportunities report now.

Requirements for a GSA Schedule

There are some basic requirements for qualifying for a GSA Schedule. You must be in business for at least 2 years with sales in excess of $25,000 each. The products you are intending to sell to the Government must have been sold on the open market prior to your initial application. If you are looking to qualify as a small business, make sure your company falls under the correct sales volume of its NAICS code. And neither you nor your company can be convicted of a felony crime against the Government in the last three years.

Step 1: Your GSA Schedule Category

This is the GSA Schedule category and Specific Item Number (SIN) your company would be under on GSA Advantage! website. For example, GSA Schedule 70 General Purpose Information Technology (IT) Equipment, Software and Services. Your SIN might be for one section of Schedule 70 such as 132-51 of IT Professional Services including networking, programming, database planning and many others. Your company may have more than one SIN per GSA Schedule Contract.

Step 2: Government Contractor Spending

Based on your GSA Schedule SIN we can show you what the Government spent last fiscal year in that category. We can help create a Custom Government Market Analysis for you. The Analysis covers the overall marketplace, specific agencies contracting for your Schedule, Sales by Contractor Name, Sales by Schedule-SIN, and a breakdown of your category to specific agency procurement officers. This is great help to jump starting your marketing.

Step 3: NAICS Classification

Your company's NAICS code classifies your services. This helps Government buyers know what jobs you are eligible to receive. When agencies post Federal Contracts, it is by NAICS code.

Step 3 Link: Find your company's NAICS code (North American Industry Classification System)

Step 4: Federal Contracts Awarded by NAICS

On this site you can see Government Contracts awarded to companies with the same NAICS classification code as yours. Now you can see just how much the Federal Government spent in your business category. NAICS results includes ALL Government Contractors not just those with GSA Schedules.

Step 4 Link: See if the Government purchases from your industry

Step 5: Government Contract Opportunities

This site is where anyone can go and bid on Government jobs. We will walk you through the site and show you the current opportunities in your industry. FedBizOpps is used by all Government agencies. Procurements under GSA Schedules have to be posted on FedBizOpps if they exceed $25,000. If the procurement is made through GSA Schedules and does not involve ARRA funding, it is not necessary for the agency to post the requirement on FedBizOpps. GSA procurement representatives prefer to use GSA Schedule holders first because it is faster and easier. When you have a GSA Schedule you can be up and running on a job in less than 14 days. Non GSA Schedule companies are competing and bidding for up to 268 days.
